A New Look for a New Season

At the first sign of spring we decided it was time to take some new pictures of Lainey outside in the sun. We had to find some green grass first... so we went up to the county courthouse and took pictures in their rye grass. We've already walked many a mile, back and forth to the nearest park, since the weather has gotten a little nicer. It's 6/10 of a mile from our house to the park and we try to walk two big loops before walking back home. It's about 4 miles. We LOVE the parks here in our town and feel very fortunate to live so close to one of them.
For Valentines Day we got all cleaned up and went to the Valentine's Banquet at our church. Grandma and Gampa James came to babysit for us. While we were there, I thought "We actually have a babysitter spending the night at our house (we don't have a curfew!) and we could go catch the late movie." Then I yawned and realized that the babysitters wouldn't be there the entire next day to watch Lainey while I suffered through the results of our first late night out.

We spent some more time outside in the side yard just to soak up some sun.

So, this is Lainey's Pose. You can find her doing this about 90% of the time when she's on the ground. She crawls....and then poses, she plays with a toy....and then poses, she gets a new diaper....and then poses.

This is Lainey's "best friend." She goes to our church and is 3 weeks younger than Lainey. Those two girls cannot keep their eyes off of each other. As soon as they see each other they start squealing and laughing (I wish I had a video of this to show). When you put them together they want to hold each other. It's the sweetest thing I've seen & just makes our hearts smile.
We had the pleasure of Dedicating Lainey to the Lord recently. She had all of her grandparents there, along with aunts and uncles, and close friends of the family. They say, "It takes a village to raise a child." and we were so happy that so many came to show their love and commitment to helping raise Lainey in a Christ-like manner.
